The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City has updated the requirements and age for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. St. Gregory the Great and St. Francis Xavier work together to prepare students for this important milestone. As part of this preparation, parents and/or sponsors are required to attend Religious Education classes with their child as well as formation at home. Confirmation candidates must also participate in a retreat, with several opportunities offered throughout the Archdiocese.
All students are encouraged to continue their Religious Education beyond Confirmation. Receiving Confirmation in 6th grade is not the end of Religious Education, it is the beginning! In addition to youth group on Wednesday evenings, a Post Confirmation Class (PCC) meets twice a month on Sunday afternoon at St. Gregory the Great. Our Enid Catholic Community offers many engaging and meaningful opportunities for youth to grow in their faith, including participation in evens such as the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC), Mid-America Steubenville Youth Conference for high school students, Holy Fire for middle school students and Totus Tuus each summer. Many volunteer chances are offered throughout the year.
